What is pH? pH is a measure that is used to measure acidity or alkalinity and is expressed as a number that ranges from 0 to 14. Any number below 7 is considered to be acidic while all numbers above 7 are considered to be alkaline. A pH of 7 is neutral i.e. neither acidic nor alkaline. A pH of 5 is about 10 times more acidic than pH of 6. Check the pH of the soil before planting or designing a new garden or creating vegetable plots or planting fruits. It is also worth checking if growth of plants is disappointing or foliage suddenly begins to turn yellow.
So Why Should You Care? It means that when there is a small change in pH numbers, it equates to a large change in acidity or alkalinity. There are great differences in the amount of concentration between each of the numbers on the pH scale. The acidity or alkalinity of soil affects the way plants grow. When you know the pH of your soil, you will understand if the essential minerals that your plants need to grow will be available or not. The Amado Soil pH Meter is the ideal tool for finding out the acidity or alkalinity of your soil and will give you the information you need before you start planting.
